Clarence Eugene "Gene" Hill Made a peaceful transition from this world to live forever with our Lord on Dec. 25, 2010. The son of Rena and Harry W. Hill, Gene was born June 18, 1928 in Elkton, MD. His family moved to Rockland, MA in his early years. After high school, he served four years in the US Navy. He graduated from Northeastern University as a design engineer. For 42 years he worked at Raytheon , Xerox and Eastman Kodak. He retired in 1993. Gene was a member of the United Presbyterian Stone Church of Caledonia and a member of the F.& A. Masons for 55 years, Union Lodge #45, Lima and very active in the Livingston Distict. He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, C. Eugene M.D. (Gail) Hill of Osterville, MA, Gail Hill of Perry, NY, Scott (Carol) Hill of Macedon, NY, Barbara (Ed) Farrell of Pavilion, NY, Bryan (Michelle) Kenville of Rochester, NY and Jeff Kenville of Caledonia, NY; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Ken (Alice) Hill of TX; several nieces and nephews. His first wife, June (Paulding) Hill, brothers, Harry and Earl Hill and sister, Corinne Lebel predecease Gene. Armada C. Stone Armanda C. Stone age 83 yr. of Caledonia died December 11, 2010 at LeRoy Village Green. The daughter of Herbert and Ethel Curry, Armada was born May 27, 1927 in Mt. Morris, NY. Predeceased by her husband, Floyd and son, Robert Stone. She is survived by her son , Richard Stone; grandchildren, Chantel, Robert Stone, R.J. (Tammy), Peter, Kate Kantowski, Kevin, Sarah M., Kathryn, Sarah A. Robert C. SinClair Sr. Robert C. SinClair Sr. of Caledonia died unexpectedly on December 11, 2010 at 75 years old. The son of Harold and Loretta Sinclair, Bob was born May 20, 1935 in Rochester, NY. Over the years, Bob worked at NYSDEC Bureau of Fisheries and was a Livingston County Sheriff Deputy from 1962 through 1966, serving as Sergeant from 1964 to 1966. He joined the NYSDEC Bureau of Law Enforcement in 1966 and retired in 1990. Prior to and following retirement he was with Mack Realty in Caledonia. Throughout the years from 1959 through 1988 he worked part-time as a driver for NY Trailways Bus Company. From 1992 to 2003 Bob served on the Caledonia Town Board and over the years was very active in the Republican Committee. Throughout his life he had many interests, including restoration of motorcycles and enjoyed researching, locating and bringing an old bike back to new. Riding motorcycle with his friends was a big part of his life. BobŐs roots were deep on Black Street Road in Caledonia and he cherished his heritage and family history. He spent a great deal of time restoring and refinishing family heirlooms. One of his restoration projects was restoring the one- room school house on Black Street that he attended, along with several generations of his family. He resided there for 30 years and enjoyed sharing its history with others. The legacy Bob leaves will be the cherished memories in the hearts of his family and friends. Bob is survived by his loving and grieving family, including his wife of 31 years, Sheila; his children Pamela SinClair, Rebecca (Mark) Schroeder, Robert (Kristin) SinClair Jr.; grandchildren Vicky, Stephanie, Robbie, Mark and Brian; and great granddaughter Estelle. Bob is also survived by his special pup, Pepper and many treasured friends. Services were held Tuesday, December 14th at 1 p.m. in Caledonia at the First Presbyterian Church 3080 West Main Street. C. Edward Matthews On November 2, 2010 at age 80. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol; son, Thomas (Jacqueline) of Shaker Heights, OH; daughters, Susan (Alex) Macario of Stanford, CA, Allison (Victor) Whiteside of Mumford, NY, Karen Mosesso of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Patrick, Michaela and Conor Matthews, Samantha and Kevin Macario, Daniel and Edward, Chad, Vicki and Michelle Whiteside, Annie and Audrey Mosesso; 2 great-grandchildren. A graduate of Alfred University. Ed taught and coached football for over 30 years at Caledonia-Mumford Central School. A Navy veteran of the Korean War and 50 year member of the American Legion in Caledonia, Caledonia Library Board member, former Mayor of Caledonia and Board of Trustees. Yvonne (Knickerbocker) Salvatore Yvonne (Knickerbocker) Salvatore, 57, of Tyrone, NY died on Friday, October 22, 2010 at home after a long battle with brain cancer. Yvonne was a Die Cast Operator of General Motors in Rochester, NY. She also groomed dogs. She is survived by her son, Hombre (Tammy) Salvatore of Tyrone; daughter, Daria (Erin) McTamney of Dundee; mother, Cecil Knickerbocker, and George Denny of Caledonia, NY; brothers, Walter Knickerbocker of LeRoy, NY, Lauren Knickerbocker of Scottsville, NY and Gerrit (Missy) Knickerbocker of Linwood, NY; sisters, Colleen (Joe) Perri of Rochester NY and Maria (Bill) Hunter of LeRoy, NY; grandchildren, Cody, Shane, Logan, Corey (Chubbers), Ryan, and Nicholas; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Lauren and brother, SGT. Irwin (Butch) Knickerbocker. She will be greatly missed by her long time friends Ann and Sam Dixon of Reading Center, NY and her faithful companion Thor. Bruce H. MacIntyre Bruce H. MacIntyre age 81 yr. of York died October 26, 2010 at his home. The son of Roy H. and Jennie V. MacIntyre, Bruce was born August 9, 1929 in Auburn, NY. Bruce is a retired deputy sheriff for the Livingston County SheriffŐs Department and a retired York Town Justice. He was a member of the Livingston County Deputy SheriffŐs Association, a member and past chief of the York Fire Department, member of the Western New York FiremanŐs Association, former deacon for the York Baptist Church, past president of the Pleasant Valley Cemetery Association, and was a Mason Eunice Lodge #830 F. and A. M. and a life-long farmer. Bruce is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia; sons, Robert (Donna) of NC, Richard (Beth) of York, sister, Janet Kingdon of Pavilion; daughter-in-law, Robin MacIntyre of York; brothers-in-law, Carl Frank of LeRoy, Donald Frank of CA; grandchildren, Geoffrey, Joshua, Hollie, Kelly, Kathleen and Tara; great-grandchildren, Zeke, Tavin, Kari, Tyler, Trey, Haille and Sean, several nieces and nephews. Idamarie E. Yager Idamarie E. Yager age 58 yr. of Caledonia died October 6, 2010 at Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw, NY. Ida was born December 16, 1951 in Cornwell, Canada Raymond and Marion LaPrade. She worked in the Maintenance Department for Caledonia-Mumford Central School. Ida is survived by her husband of 32 years, Glenn Yager; daughters, Kimberly (Nick) Andrews, Laurie Yager, Rebecca (Ben) Hall, Tamara (Dan) OŐShea, Patti Yager; son, Richard (Kristy) Courtney; 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen (Dave) Holler; brothers, Chuck (Kim) LaPade, Brian (Lisa) LaPade, John and Edwin Thompson. Paul L. Day Sr. Paul L. Day age 74 yr. of Caledonia died October 1, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. The son of Walter and Bertha Day, Paul was born January 8, 1936 in Canandaigua, NY. Paul worked for Eastman Kodak for 30 years. He had the distinction of being one of the first African American supervisors in the Film Emulsion Department at Kodak Paul retired in 1991 and spent his retirement playing golf and enjoying the company of friends and family. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 54 years, Anne; children, Paul ŇChipÓ Jr. (Terry), Robyn (Alfred McComber) William ŇBillyÓ Sr. (Becki), David (Cathy) Day; siblings, Robert Day, Jim Bellis, Shirley (Weldon) Rougeau; grandchildren, Deanne, James, Marissa, William Jr.; step-children; Deven and Sierra Tracey, Byron Ford; 2 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Kennetha Jackson, Teri (Steven) Wilson, Meta (Torin) Washington. Robert J. Hammond Sr. Robert J. Hammond Sr. age 73 yr. of Loveland, CO, died on September 13, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, CO. He was born October 22, 1936 in Caledonia, NY to Leo William and Grace Anna (Glenn) Hammond. Bob served in the US Army. He worked as a sales representative for Collins Collision Products in Ft. Collins for many years. He most recently worked for Hertz. Bob lived in Loveland since the early 1970Ős, moving from New York State. His hobbies included photography, wood working and he enjoyed helping family and friends with home improvement projects. Bob is survived by his brothers, William (Lynn) Hammond of Cohocton, NY and Dan Hammond, sister-in-law, Patricia Hammond of Canandaigua, NY as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patti, daughter, Paige, son, Robert Jr. and wife Marge Hammond. Stella S. Latko Stella S. Latko age 93 yr. of Mumford died peacefully surrounded by her family on September 10, 2010 at the LeRoy Village Green. The daughter of Sophia and Victor Kowalski, Stella was born April 16, 1917 in Buffalo, NY. She retired from Allen Bailey Tag and Label Inc., Caledonia. She was a member of the Mumford Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Rosary Society of St. Columba Church, member of the Wheatland Senior Citizens and their trip coordinator. Stella was dedicated to her family and enjoyed sewing, baking, crocheting, and gardening. She is survived by her children, Stanley (Sondra) Latko, Mary Ann (William) McGinnis, Patricia (Craig) Johnson, Deborah (Timothy) Quinlan; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Evelyn E. McQuilkin Evelyn E. McQuilkin age 96 yr. of Caledonia died July 14, 2010 at Noyes Memorial Hospital, Dansville, NY. The daughter of Lois and George Stevens, Evelyn was born May 30, 1914 in Stone Church, NY. She was a longtime resident of Stafford and past member of the Stafford Methodist Church. Evelyn was a 50-Year member of the United Presbyterian Stone Church of Caledonia and a member of the Ladies Guild and Friendship Class. Lester E. Keller Groveland: Shortly before noon on July 1, 2010, Lester Eugene ŇGeneÓ Keller, aged 85, passed away at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY. He went to be with his beloved wife of more than 56 years, Barbara C. Keller, who passed away April 15, 2010. Born in Shelby, OH, on April 13, 1925, he was the son of the late Lester Lee Keller and the late Geraldine Glacia Hess Keller Williams Doerr. He was father of the late Kathleen G. Keller who passed away November 23, 2009. He is survived by his sons, Keith Keller and wife Connie of Southport, N.C., Kurt Keller and wife Donna of Caledonia, N.Y., and Kevin Keller of Phoenix, AZ; his grandson Matthew Curtis Keller of Caledonia, NY., his step brother J. George Williams and wife Doris of Shelby, Ohio, his step sister Ann Williams Feldner and husband Charles of Spartanburg, SC, and numerous other loving family and friends. He was a member of the Shelby High School class of Ő42, and along with his wife, thoroughly enjoyed its 55th year reunion. As a young caddy at the Shelby Country Club, he developed a passion for golf that he continued for the rest of his life. He enlisted in the USNR because he wanted to fly planes and attended military training at Oberlin College and Purdue University. He was assigned to the crew of the USS Harrison, a light destroyer, and as Fireman First Class he manned the twin forty, a 40 mm gun, and participated in battles at Ulithi, Iwo Jima, Okinawa Japan. Although he did not get to fly for the Navy, later, as a civilian, he became certified to fly single engine planes. While attending Kenyon College in Gambier OH, he was a powerful swimmer and helped the team to its first conference title in several years. As a graduate of Heidelberg College, in Tiffin OH, he earned a BA and later graduated from Western Reserve University (now Case Western Reserve University), in Cleveland, OH with an MBA. Barb and Les raised their family in Irondequoit, NY and then in Bristol, NY., and spent memorable family vacations at Keuka Lake. He worked for several Rochester corporations including Xerox. Civic activities included his year as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the US Junior Chamber of Commerce. Lester and Barb retired to Groveland, NY. Service and Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Barb and LesterŐs life is planned for later this summer. Schwartz, Eleanor was born July 8, 1923 in Wellsville, NY. She is survived by her
daughter, Aleta (Robert) Jennings of Endicott, NY; sons, Raymond (Judy) Emery of
Snohomish, WA, Leland (Nancilu) Emery of Lima, NY, Joseph (Gerrie) Emery of Caledonia;
daughter-in-law, Karolyn Emery of St. Charles, IL; 12 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren. Her husband, Frank and son, Iklin predeceases Eleanor.

Carol Jean (Reynolds) Limner February 10, 1936 ~ June 15, 2010 Gracefully passed away on Tuesday June 15 after a long
battle with cancer. She was born February 10, 1936 in Batavia, NY, the daughter of the
late Eugene and Helen Reynolds. Carol was predeceased by her parents, son Michael and
granddaughter Jessica Mertz. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Karl Limner;
children, Karen (Larry) Mertz, Mary Ellen Poles, John (Cheley) Limner, Ann Limner
(Alex Webster), Timothy (Jodi) Limner; grandchildren, Patrick and Michael Mertz,
Ryan and Kelli Poles, Chelsey and Daphne Limner, Victoria and Andrew Webster,
Skylar and Camryn Limner. She is also survived by her dear cousin, Eileen Smith;
brother-in-law, Thomas White; sisters-in-law, Carol Mae Limner and Barbara Matarewski;
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carol graduated from Batavia High School in 1954 and Edward J. Meyer Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Buffalo, NY in 1957. She recently retired after decades of working as a registered nurse at St. Jerome's Hospital, Avon Nursing Home and United Memorial Hospital. In retirement, she was a member of the Livingston County Medical Reserve Corp. Carol was a parishioner of St. Columba Catholic Church and an active member of the Caledonia community. Carol enjoyed being outdoors, swimming, skiing, boating, camping and she loved to travel especially to the beach. She lived life to its fullest. Most of all, she loved spending time with family. Anne Fuller Hitchcock April 8, 1930 ~ May 2, 2010 Anne Hitchcock of Lakeway, TX died on May 2, 2010.
She was born in Rochester, NY April 8, 1930. She was a lover of the Arts for
her entire life. Her special interest was music. As a girl she studied piano
and commuted to The Eastman School of Music for lessons until she was in high
school. She was the accompanist for the Chorus at the Caledonia-Mumford Central
School during her years in High School. While attending Alfred University she
became more involved as a singer taking lessons from her mentor William Fielder,
the Director of Music. Following her marriage she pursued singing by joining the
choir of each church she attended and served as the soprano soloist at two of them.
She also enjoyed singing with the Rochester Oratorio Society.
It was at Alfred where she met her husband, Allan Hitchcock. They were married in 1951 and lived in Rochester where they started their family. Cameron John Hitchcock was born in the same hospital as his mother as was David Allan Hitchcock and Margaret Helen Hitchcock Sundberg. Elisabeth Anne Hitchcock Breen was born in Buffalo. The family followed Allan and his job moves eventually to Montclair, NJ where they lived for 27 years as the children were going through school and college. Anne returned to school herself to refresh her secretarial skills that led to a job as a legal secretary. Following her husbandŐs retirement the couple moved to Lakeway TX and purchased a motorhome with which they had many happy trips throughout the USA over a 5-year period. Anne recorded the trips in her diary and was in the process of writing a book about those glorious days that she loved. While in Lakeway, Anne was active in Book Clubs, The Greater Lakeway WomenŐs Club, Viewpoints Program and as President of Seton Associates of Lakeway. Her parents, Frank J. Fuller, Jr. and Margaret Marie Foran Fuller both preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Allan Hitchcock and her four children, Cameron and Judy, David and Debi, Meg and Eric, Lis and Bob, and grandchildren Alison and Jim Hitchcock, Kris and Kevin Sundberg, and Rob and Cameron Breen. A Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis. A reception will follow services. Linda Jane (D'Alesio) Kyler Linda Jane (D'Alesio) Kyler, 49, died peacefully at her home in Ohio on April 12, 2010, after fighting cancer for five years. A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Friday, April 16th. at 2:00 p.m. at Sts. Phillip and James R.C. Church in Canal Fulton. After mass, friends and family were invited to a reception in the social hall. Linda was born in Trenton, N.J., and graduated from Hopewell Valley High School in Pennington, N.J. She received her bachelor's degree in Economics from Ursinus College. She moved to Caledonia and joined the choir at St. Columba Church. She also performed in the Caledonia-Mumford Variety Shows and played clarinet with Just PlayinŐ Folks. She worked at Chase Lincoln First Bank in Caledonia and at Jones Chemical in LeRoy, where she met her future husband, David. After marriage, she moved to his home in Clinton, Ohio. There she immersed herself into family life guiding her step-children and numerous foster daughters. In 1992, Dave and Linda welcomed their daughter Arissa to the family. Linda enrolled in Akron University and then Ashland University attaining both a master's degree and teaching certification in Special Education. She was on the faculty of Tuslaw Middle School for eight years. Throughout her life, Linda was an avid musician and generously shared her talents in the music ministry of her church and at Chapel Hill Nursing Home. She enjoyed actively following Arissa's pursuits in sports, music and dance and tolerated her husband's outdoor camping. In addition to her caring husband of 20 years, and her daughter, Linda is survived by her children Jennifer (Kent) Beck, Christopher (Sherry) Kyler, Amy (Jeremy) Stallman; grandchildren, Dawson and Logan Beck, Corey and Alexus Kyler; sisters, Maria (David) Neale, Diana (Nathan) Gable; close friend, Michelle Bubel (Mike) Kempa; nieces, Mirella and Elena Gable; and nephew, Harold Neale. She was also greatly loved by her extended family of in-laws, cousins, aunts and uncles. John Remington Harmon John Remington Harmon age 87 yr. of Wheatland died March 16, 2010 at his home. The son of John and Agnes Harmon, he was born March 7, 1923 in Rochester, NY. John was a farmer, private investor and conservationist. He was a combat veteran with the 15th Air Force, 464th Bomb Group during WWII. John was a broker with the George D.B. Bonbright Company and retired from E.F. Hutton in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Madelyn; children, Eugene, Amy, and Jennifer as well as three grandsons. Grace A. Sullivan Grace A. Sullivan age 88 yr. of Caledonia/Palm Harbor, FL died March 12, 2010. The daughter of Cornelius and Margaret Riley, Grace was born August 13, 1921 in Westerly, RI. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Richard) LaFore; sons, Brian (Paulette), Patrick (Amy), Sean (Jean) Sullivan; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Joseph H. Sullivan predeceased Grace. Lewis R. VanOstrand "Dick" Lewis R. "Dick" VanOstrand age 78 yr. of Caledonia died March 6, 2010 at Hurlbut Nursing Home, Brighton, NY. The son of Lewis R. and Lula VanOstrand, he was born August 27, 1931 in Rochester. Dick served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from TLF Graphics, Rochester as machinery engineer. A member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caledonia, he served as choir director for the church. He was also as choir director at Camp Chautauqua. Music was an important part of his life. Dick also enjoyed electric race car events. He is survived by his wife, Willda; children, Amy (Greg) Thomas, Erica (Randy) Burnell, Rick (Cathy) Blum; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. William C. Sheldon William C. Sheldon of North Tonawanda, formerly of Mumford and Caledonia passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife Sue and her children; father, W. Robert, Sheldon of Venice, FL, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Nichols Sheldon and brother, John Sheldon. After graduating from Caledonia-Mumford High School he served in the US Navy. Following that he worked with his brother and father at Great Lakes Plumbing Supply in Rochester, a business founded by his father. His memorial service was Thursday evening, March 4, 2010 at John O.
